This module will develop your understanding of patient safety issues and quality improvement methodology in healthcare. The subjects covered include human error theory, the science of human factors, and their influence on clinical practice behaviour, leading to near misses and adverse events. We will examine tools for quality improvement, including PDSA, which can help us analyse, monitor and enhance our health services. The module will challenge you to examine your own workplace and will enable you to develop the skills to initiate and implement clinical practice improvements.
